July 17, 2026
Good afternoon Oak Grove Families,
With an abundance of caution and with family planning in mind, we must inform you that the Superintendent is recommending to the Board of Education the delay of the 2026-27 school year by one week. This delay is necessary to accommodate a multi-day school site power shutdown. During this time, crews will complete a critical power conversion to a new electrical transformer and finalize additional site-wide facility improvements. Institute days will now be held on August 18-19 and the first student attendance day will be August 20. The board will vote on the updated calendar at their regularly scheduled meeting on July 22nd. The planned registration day for July 29th will remain and we will be in the office if on-site assistance is needed. We understand that schedule changes can present logistical challenges for families, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We appreciate your patience, flexibility, and partnership as we invest in the safety and long-term reliability of our school infrastructure.
With any questions don't hesitate to email Dr. Loren Baele, Oak Grove Superintendent at lbaele@og68.org.
