Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment

Curriculum

At Oak Grove School, our curriculum is aligned to the Illinois Learning Standards for all courses. A current goal for our school district is to establish a consistent curriculum from grades K-8, beginning with new Math curriculum adopted for the 22-23 school year and new ELA curriculum adopted for the 23-24 school year. To view the Illinois Learning Standards for each grade level, and information on content areas, please see the links below.

Instruction

Oak Grove Instructional Practices are student centered and focused on supporting the needs of the Whole Child. The five tenets of a whole child education--healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged— provide a framework and understanding of what a whole child approach to instruction means. Students are supported academically, social-emotionally and behaviorally through Multi-Tiered Systems of Support.

Assessment

Oak Grove School District 68 uses a variety of assessment tools to measure student performance and plan for individual student needs. The District Assessment Overview describes the purpose of each assessment, when it is administered, and how it is used to guide instruction.
